Knowsley CVS Volunteer Support is a service provided by Knowsley Council for Voluntary Service (KCVS). Knowsley CVS is a development organisation for the Borough that provides local level support for individual volunteers and volunteer involving organisations. Knowsley CVS operates throughout the Knowsley Borough promoting, supporting and developing volunteering.

Volunteers
Knowsley CVS’s primary function is to match volunteers to placements available within the local community. We hold comprehensive information on a variety of opportunities and offer potential volunteers support and advice in choosing placements.

Organisations
Knowsley CVS works in close partnership with statutory, voluntary and private sector agencies as well as local community groups to develop volunteering opportunities. We hold information on over 200 local organisations that have opportunities for volunteers and act as resource in assisting with all aspects of volunteering:
- Providing advice and information
- Offering guidance and support on recruiting and supporting volunteers
- Recruiting and referring new volunteers
- Helping to develop volunteering policies and practices

Volunteer Certificate Scheme
As a CVS we aim to encourage local interest in volunteering by promoting the benefits of volunteering; the benefits to organisation who have volunteers; and awarding and rewarding the success achieved as a result of volunteering. Organisations can obtain certificates, signed by the Mayor of Knowsley, to present to their volunteers as a way of recognising and valuing their involvement. 

Services and Training
In order to promote good practise amongst volunteers and volunteer involving organisations, Knowsley CVS offers a range of training and accreditation for all involved in volunteering, including potential volunteers.

vinvolved Knowsley is dedicated to supporting and encouraging young people and local organisations, as part of the national vinvolved scheme. vinvolved was set up to inspire a new generation of 16-25 year olds to get involved in volunteering and community action.
