Volunteering Merseyside (VM) is committed to building a dynamic, strategic, co-ordinated and sustainable infrastructure for volunteering in Greater Merseyside. Under the banner of Volunteering Merseyside we are: Volunteer Centre Halton, Knowsley CVS Volunteer Support, Volunteer Centre Liverpool, Volunteer Centre Sefton, Volunteer Centre St Helens, Volunteer Centre Network in Wirral. Volunteering Merseyside is committed to the quality accreditation scheme and branding of Volunteering England. Where Volunteering Merseyside operates- VM's primary impact is pan Greater Merseyside in terms of work with and for volunteers and volunteer involving organisations - VM's seek to exert influence beyond Greater Merseyside in terms of sharing learning and promoting collaboration on the development of volunteering infrastructure What Volunteering Merseyside does Building upon local delivery by individual Volunteer Centres VM will: - Enable effective sharing of resources and expertise - Increase access to consistently high quality good practice - Collaborate on learning and development activity - Increase coherence of promotion - Increase efficiency of referrals How Volunteering Merseyside works- Having agreed terms of reference - Operating in accordance with core values - Operating the Volunteering Merseyside Portal - Nominating representatives to participate in specialist/regional/national arenas - Capitalising upon sub regional opportunities for influence, partnership and/or funding Activities Volunteering Merseyside undertakes- Holding quarterly full business meetings ideally in advance of the Volunteering North West meetings - Quarterly meetings to be hosted by member VC’s on a rota with secretariat support provided by the host - Ad hoc project specific meetings as required - Decision making on network business will be principally by consensus, however, should consensus not be achieved the decision would be put to a vote with there being one vote per Volunteer Centre - Maintaining close working links via effective use of email and telephone - Nominated representatives fairly and accurately communicate the view of the network including when a range of opinion exists and then to report back to the network - All members take personal responsibility for communicating with nominated representatives - Feeding information to the national EVDC via the North West representative - Organising GM events and networks - Running awareness raising and promotional campaigns - Providing consultancy, training, information, publications and web based services Further Information For further information about Volunteering Merseyside Email:
